Keep the guitar in a stable environment with a relative humidity level of about 45% to prevent the wood from drying out, cracking, or swelling. Use a guitar case with a humidifier to help maintain proper moisture levels and protect the instrument year-round.
Avoid exposing the guitar to excessive heat, direct sunlight, or leaving it in a hot car, as high temperatures can warp the wood and damage glue joints.
Apply a small amount of lemon oil to a clean cloth and condition the fretboard sparingly one to two times per year to remove grime, prevent drying, and maintain the wood’s natural appearance.
The same should be done for the bridge using a light coat of furniture wax.
